CHARLO — Friday night’s football game between the Mission Bulldogs and Charlo Vikings will go down in the history books as one of the great Class C rival games.
The Bulldogs were down 20-6 at halftime to the hosting Vikings, but the dawgs out scored the Vikings 26-6 in the second half and ended up taking the win 32-26.
Heavily falling snow added to the excitement of the game as it blanketed the field and made conditions more suitable for snowboarding than football. Snow shovels were used to carve out the lines on the playing surface and end zones.
The Bulldogs celebrated their victory by sliding through the snow and creating snow angels in the middle of the field.
With the win, the Bulldogs tie the rivalry series match up 2-2 and snag their second consecutive playoff appearance since joining Class C 8-Man football back in the 2017 season.
The Bulldogs travel this Saturday to Fort Benton to face the undefeated Long Horns in a first-round playoff showdown.
