A Former detention officer with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office was sentenced at District Court in Missoula on Aug. 31 to a total of 42 days jail time.
Korren Katelyn Fehrenbach, 25, pleaded guilty on Aug. 10 to misdemeanor charges of transferring illegal articles and official misconduct. The guilty pleas came as part of a plea agreement that dismissed two misdemeanor counts of transferring illegal articles.
In April, according to court records, jail staff intercepted conversations Fehrenbach had with an inmate. In the recording, Fehrenbach told the inmate that she remained loyal to him and that she had given him a phone. A search of the inmate turned up the mobile phone. A charger for the phone, along with earphones, was located in the inmate’s jail cell.
Fehrenbach admitted during the change of plea hearing that she was in a romantic relationship with the inmate. District Judge Shane Vanetta, of Missoula, presided over the case.
