DIXON – Firefighters continued to focus on a heavy mop-up operation on the Magpie Rock Fire on Sunday, Aug. 9.
The fire burned 3,539 acres and is 75 percent contained as of Sunday. Crews are utilizing engines, water tenders and hose lays. One hundred and twelve personnel were assigned to the incident.
The weather has been mostly sunny with rain. Temperatures have been in the 80s. Relative humidity was at 17-27 percent. Winds were southwest at four to eight mph in the afternoon.
Evacuation notices were not given at this time. Structures were not threatened at this time. Road Closures: to reduce the risk to firefighters and public, the D-6000 road between Revais and Magpie and the Magpie D-5000 road are closed.
