Cutfinger sentenced to 15 years in homicide case

A Ronan man was committed in Polson District Court on June 18 to the Montana Department of Corrections for a total of 15 years with half that time suspended for a drunk driving crash that killed his passenger.
Brayden A’twen Cutfinger, 21, pleaded guilty to felony charges of negligent homicide and criminal endangerment as part of a plea agreement reached in April.
The charges stem from a fatal rollover that occurred on May 8, 2019, on Hillside Road.
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Zach Miller arrived on scene to find a wrecked Bonneville Pontiac with a deceased person covered in a blanket nearby. The deceased person was later identified as Tania Marie Oldhorn, 30.
Miller’s investigation showed the Pontiac struck a fence and then a tree before coming to a stop. After a lengthy investigation, Cutfinger admitted to being the driver of the car while being intoxicated. He had initially denied being the driver or being intoxicated.
District Judge Deborah “Kim” Christopher gave Cutfinger credit for 230 days jail time already served and ordered Cutfnger to pay all court costs and $800 for the cost of his public defender.
