Charlo pleads not guilty to drug charges

Labenza Dawn Charlo, 20, of Pablo entered a plea of not guilty in District Court at Polson on June 11 to felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
According to court records, on Jan. 28, Polson police assisted probation officers with a hotel room search in Polson, which is where Charlo was staying.
Officers immediately noticed drug paraphernalia and two small children in the room. After being advised of her rights, Charlo stated that she had smoked heroin in the bathroom earlier. A search of Charlo’s purse turned up two baggies of methamphetamine. Charlo was placed under arrest. Officers found a meth pipe on Charlo during a detention search.
Judge Deborah “Kim” Christopher set the case for trial on Dec. 7.
