Brian Andrew Fernquist, 48, of Mullan, Idaho, entered a plea of not guilty at District Court in Polson on June 4 to felony criminal endangerment. His plea was entered via teleconferencing due to COVID-19.

The charge stems from an alleged drunk driving incident in Ravalli on April 24. Lake County emergency dispatchers received multiple reports of a white sedan forcing other motorists off the road. A responding law enforcement officer met one of the reporting parties that had been forced off the road. The witness said they watched the white sedan drive off U. S. Highway 93 and over a curb before coming to a stop. The witness was then able to reach into the car and grab the keys.

Fernquist was identified as the driver. A breath sample showed Fernquists BAC at .341, more than four times the legal limit. Judge Deborah “Kim” Christopher set the case for trial on Oct. 13. Fernquist is at liberty but with certain conditions, including alcohol monitoring.
