BILLINGS – The two-day Montana State All-Class Wrestling Championships concluded on Saturday at the MetraPark’s First Interstate Arena in Billings with Mission/Charlo Bulldog Isaiah Allik standing atop the podium as Class B/C state champion.
Allik capped a 42-0 season with a 5-4 decision win over Nate Gorham (41-2) of Shepherd for the 170-pound state title. Last year he finished in fourth place.
Also making podium appearances for the Mission/Charlo Bulldogs were Darwin Adams (45-8) who placed third in the 152-pound class with a pin win over his Huntley Project opponent. Troy Matt (25-9) placed fifth in the 182-pound class, and Walker Murphy (31-22) at 126 pounds finished in sixth place.
In the B/C 145-pound class, Arlee Warrior Colt Crawford (32-12) won fifth place by a 6-3 decision over Malta/Whitewater wrestler Camryn Mears.
Wrestling in Class A, grapplers from Polson and Ronan found success on the mats at state. With a 40-11 overall record on the season, Polson Pirate Kedrick Baker nabbed fifth place in the 126-pound class with a pin win against Hardin wrestler Sean Mehling.
The Ronan Chiefs had two bracket finishers with Kolby Reum and Daniel Collins Bishop. Reum finished the season with a 31-16 record and scored a sixth-place finish in the 145-pound category. Bishop (27-18) wrapped up a fifth-place finish by injury default over Jacoby Mattern of Dawson County in the 160-pound bracket.
