For the past two years the auditorium rocked with cheers of support for the performers.
Contestants were pianists, vocalists, instrumentalists, spoken-word artists and gymnasts.
MVHT is a fundraiser for the Helping Hands Fund. The first two events raised more than $10,000 for the ecumenical project.
Since 2004, when Helping Hands Fund was established, the fund, supported by local churches, organizations and individuals, has responded to more than 45,000 requests for assistance, given in the form of vouchers for food, gas, temporary lodging, clothing, utilities and transportation.
