POLSON — “Thank you, thank you, thank you” was the recurring message delivered by Darcie Laud’s third-grade class from Linderman Elementary School as they completed their second year of swimming lessons.
The children walked over from the school to the Greater Polson Community Foundation Office to personally thank the GPCF board for their gift of lessons and swim passes to the students.
The students completed their second year of swimming classes and have accomplished great feats. Students said of their favorite swimming events, “I liked diving for pennies ... I liked jumping off the diving board ... My favorite thing was the pencil dive.” The comments came from many students who could not swim at all last year.
The GPCF issued a challenge grant covering a four-year period for the benefit of Mission Valley Aquatics to help raise funds to provide swimming lessons to second and third-grade students in the Polson School District. The grant total is $45,500. The Greater Polson Community Foundation is committed to empowering our youth through supporting activities that positively impact their futures.
