Rough Start: Maidens struggle against Frenchtown

RONAN – Frenchtown’s Kyla Bordner went 4-4, including a homerun and a double, and drove in six runs to lift the Lady Broncs to an easy 16-2 win over a shorthanded Ronan squad Thursday.
With several players away for school functions, the Maidens had a hard time keeping up with the full-stength Broncs.
Bordner’s two-run homer came in the first inning as the Broncs took control of the game early on.
Frenchtown’s Sakai Scheffer’s only two hits of the day came in the form of solo homeruns in the fourth and seventh innings as she added to the Lady Bronc lead.
Marissa McCrea led the Maidens at bat, hitting 2-4, while Courtney Molzhon went 1-3 and had the only RBI for Ronan.
Bordner led her Frenchtown team at bat, going 4-4, while Keller Leishman hit 4-5 and Scheffer went 2-3.
Ronan faces off against Columbia Falls April 7.
