MONTANA – The Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ Becoming an Outdoorswoman program is hosting an ice-fishing workshop on Jan. 24-25 in Missoula, and registration is open now.
The workshop starts with an indoor class from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24 at FWP’s Missoula office (3201 Spurgin Road). Participants will then ice fish from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Jan. 25 at Frenchtown Pond State Park.
This class is for beginning to intermediate female anglers who want to learn the basics or improve their ice fishing skills. Participants will learn to use ice fishing rods, tip-ups, ice augers and sonar fish finders.

Participants do not need a fishing license. The class is $15, and all ice fishing equipment and supplies will be provided. Participants must be at least 18 years old.
FWP’s Becoming an Outdoorswoman program is designed to introduce women to outdoor skills such as fishing, shooting, archery, survival and canoeing. More information is available online at fwp.mt.gov/education/bow/.
