CHARLO — Ninepipes Museum’s 20th annual Black Tie Dinner (tie optional) is set for Thursday, Jan. 16. The guest speaker for the 2020 event is Bryce Andrews who authored Down from the Mountain: The Life and Death of a Grizzly Bear. Andrews is an award-winning author, rancher and conservationist, now residing in Arlee, whose 2019 book tells the story of a grizzly bear named Millie. He also works as a field director for the non-profit People and Carnivores organization, and his study of and first-hand experiences with the grizzlies provides insights into the relationship between humans and the large bears that he will share with attendees at the Black Tie Dinner. Andrews’ presentation is sponsored by Blackfoot.
The “black tie,” or Western casual wear, fundraiser begins with a complimentary tour of the museum from 5-6 p.m. A no-host social hour begins 6 p.m. at Ninepipes Lodge where attendees can mingle and visit with friends and neighbors while checking out the silent auction offerings. The sit-down dinner begins at 7 p.m. There is limited seating; the $60 tickets can be obtained by calling the Ninepipes Museum at 406-644-3435. There will also be door prizes, a “Rose Raffle,” and a live auction. Proceeds help support the Ninepipes Museum, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, with its operational expenses. Keep checking our Facebook and website postings to view some of the wonderful auction items provided by artists and businesses. Call to reserve your tickets and choose your dinner selection for this fun winter event.
