PABLO – Fire crews from multiple departments responded to a fire that destroyed a garage in Pablo late Tuesday morning, Dec. 10.
Ronan Fire Chief Mark Clary said crews were called to the scene of a structure fire on Courville Trail around 11:45 a.m. Clary explained that unfortunately the garage was “totally destroyed,” but fire crews were able to prevent the blaze from spreading to the nearby residence.
“The fire had a good head start on us,” said Clary. “It was a good save on the house. The house received minor damage to the siding and roofing.”
The Polson rural department, Polson city fire and neighbors assisted Ronan Fire. “Neighbors jumped in to help at the scene and that was greatly appreciated,” said Clary. “All departments worked well together, and we thank Polson City and Polson Rural for their quick response.”
According to Clary, firefighters were on scene for roughly three hours, no injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still being investigated, but he believes a wood burning stove may have been involved.
