News from Ronan High School

RONAN – Ronan High School is again partnering with Dobson Creek Coffee to host monthly open-mic nights.

The series kicked off in December with more than a dozen performances by students and community groups. All are welcome to perform poetry, music or spoken word in a family-friendly environment.

The next open-mic night is Thursday, Jan. 16, from 7 to 9 p.m.

The event is free and open to all. You are invited to come sit back and enjoy the performances or hone your performance skills in a friendly, supportive environment. Performers sign up for the evening’s lineup at the door.

Long-time Ronan educator Claire Hibbs-Cheff, who now serves as the Ronan High School librarian, founded open-mic nights five years ago. Since then, the open-mic nights have continued to grow and to encourage students as well as community members to step into the limelight to showcase their talents.  New Ronan High School English teacher, Jaci Webb, is helping Hibbs-Cheff produce the events.

For more information, call Webb or Hibbs-Cheff at Ronan High School, 406-676-3390.
