CHOTEAU – The St. Ignatius-Charlo wrestling team took fourth with 129.5 points, and Arlee placed 10th with 85 points at the 29-team Choteau Classic Jan 13-14.
In the championship matches, Jacen Petersen lost a narrow 8-5 decision to Drummond’s Barrett Stanghill at 160 pounds.
In the consolation bracket, Gregory Weatherwax (98) pinned Fairfield’s Robert Rhodes in 4:39.
St. Ignatius’ Barret Sargent (189) pinned Arlee’s Clayton Trimble in 1:55, and Scotty Gilleard (130) scored a major decision, 12-3, over Conrad’s Garrett Moritz.
Arlee’s Nathan Bertollt (145) lost a 10-8 decision to Leonard Pugsley of Chester/Joplin/Inverness and teammate Leif Rova was pinned by Choteau’s Cole Werdal in 2:35. Cody North (215) was also pinned by Huntley Project’s Kendall Shaules in 1:28.
