BOZEMAN — Paden Alexander and Jalen Bell did just what they were supposed to do at the State B track and field meet: win.
“They both had a very good chance of winning,” Ronan-St. Ignatius head coach Crystal Pitts said.
Alexander was crowned state champion in the 3,200-meter run, while Bell followed his sweep of the jumping events at Divisionals with a win in the triple jump, leaping 43 feet, 8.5 inches for the title. Alexander also was fourth in the 1,600-meter race, and the boys’ team was fifth overall.
For the girls, Twyla Hogge remained strong in the shot put, coming in fourth with a 36-foot, 6-inch throw.
Pitts thanked her assistant coaches for all their hard work during a great season.
