Ronan’s Normandeau wins Canal Bank Invite

RONAN – Ronan Chief James Normandeau took the boys individual title and led Ronan to a team win during the Ronan Canal Bank Invitational on Friday. He ran about three miles with a time of 16:43.21.
“It was really important for me to perform my best,” said Normandeau. He explained that he wanted to help win the home meet for coach Winebrenner.
Ronan finished the meet with 45 points. Polson took second with 57 points, and the Mission boys finished fourth.
Mission Valley top ten finishers for the boys were Mason Sloan of Polson in third; Brant Heiner of Ronan in fourth; Isaiah Nasewytewa of Mission in seventh; Michael Irvine of Ronan in ninth and Zarec Couture of Ronan in 10th.
On the girls side, Polson placed second with 45 points and Ronan finished third with 93 points.
Lady Pirate Karli Owens took second. Karolyna Buck of Mission was in fourth place.
The girls top ten athletes from the valley were Gwen Seeley of Polson in seventh; Ashtyn Wagner was in ninth and River Shoemaker was 10th. Olivia Heiner was the top Ronan finisher in 11th place.
