Dayton Daze events commemorate D-Day

DAYTON — On Sept. 7 the Dayton Daze Grand Marshal will ride in the D-Day themed Chief Cliff VFD / QRU annual parade in a troupe carrier/truck. Any vets who would like to ride in the parade are invited to do so. There may even be residents of the Veterans’ Home in Kalispell present to honor the fundraising event.
A rifle raffle drawing will take place at 4 p.m. for a .357 mag/.38 SPL or a Legacy Pointer 12-guage over/under or $500 cash. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. There will also be a silent auction, 50/50, kids’ games, face painting, free hot dogs and cookies plus the usual events and activities.
Schedule of events:
11 a.m. – car show registration
10-11 a.m. – flea market set-up
Noon – car show
10 a.m.- 1 p.m. – Dayton Church bazaar and brunch
10 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Mission Mountain Winery free wine tasting 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. free hotdogs, cookies
11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. –Search and Rescue hamburgers and chips sale
11 a.m.- 5 p.m. - free BP check/QRU information
1 p.m. - Miss Montana flyover
1 and 3 p.m. – raffles
2 p.m. _ parade
3 p.m. – parade, costume winners announced
3-5 p.m. – Two Bear Air landings
3 p.m. – firefighter games
4:30 p.m. – 50/50 and rife winners announced
5 p.m. – silent auction ends.
An after-party at Mountain Meadows at Lake Mary Ronan begins at 5:30 p.m. that includes food, spirits and music.
