UPDATE
LAKE COUNTY — Lake County Sheriff's Deputy Nathan White has been hospitalized after receiving burns to his face and hands from a vehicle carburetor that exploded in his face. The carburetor exploded while White was helping a motorist with a broken-down vehicle in the Ronan area on U.S. Highway 93 on Aug. 6. Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said White maintained consciousness throughout the ordeal and is in stable condition. UPDATE: Deputy White is expected to soon be released from Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. He'll continue treatment and recovery upon his return home.
Donations for the deputy and his family are being accepted at the Sheriff's Administration Office in the Lake County Courthouse. (Downstairs after entering main, north-facing entrance.) The Valley Journal will provide updates as they become available including a full story in next week's publication.
