POLSON – Sunny, warm weather greeted attendees during the fifth annual Flathead Festival of Art along the shores of Flathead Lake in Sacajawea Park.
The two-day festival presented by the Sandpiper Art Gallery started on Saturday and ran through Sunday afternoon. The event is a prelude to the much larger annual Sandpiper Art Festival hosted on the Lake County Courthouse lawn in early August.
According to event organizers, this year’s event grew considerably from 23 artisans attending last year’s event to 35 exhibitors this year.
The Flathead Festival of Art show featured a diverse array of nature-inspired works ranging from paintings, sculpture, clay, glass, fiber, jewelry, photography, mixed media and wood.
Festivalgoers were treated throughout the event by musical performances from Nathan Eyre and his handmade guitars made from repurposed materials and David Webb playing his original handmade Native American style flutes.
