POLSON – The Polson Mud Run returns to the fairgrounds in Polson on Saturday, July 20. The sixth annual event is hosted by the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Flathead Reservation and Lake County as a fundraiser.
All the muddy fun kicks off early with the first wave of runners starting at 9:30 a.m. The very muddy 5K course (3.1 miles, approximately) takes participants through a mud pit, measuring in at about a foot deep. The course then goes over a greasy wooden wall, across a set of slimy monkey bars, down a slippery water slide and a multitude of other messy obstacles.
Entry fees for the race are $25 for runners under 17 and $40 for those over 17. One hundred percent of the registration fee goes to help support various club programs for youth, including summer camps and after-school activities. The club provides kids in both Polson and Ronan with all day summer activities as well as after school programs throughout the school year.
To register for the Mud Run or for more information about the many programs the club offers, visit the website at www.flatheadbgc.org or call 406-676-5437. Information is also available at the Polson or Ronan clubs.
