Charlo girls, Polson boys win track meet team titles

POLSON – The Polson boys track and field outdistanced the competition with 226.5 team points, while the Charlo girls posted 189 team points to capture team titles during the Lake County Track Meet on Thursday at the Polson Sports Complex.
Polson had seven first-place finishes in the boys events. Dugan Davis won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.72 seconds and the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.98 seconds. Quin Stewart ran a 52.53 first place finish in the 400 (2:05.80) and a first place in the 800 for Polson. Jonathan Perez on the javelin had a throw of 145-09, Jarod Farrier won the pole vault at 12-06 and Ryker Wenderoth won the triple jump at 38-05.
Polson got wins from their 4x100 relay team that included Alex Wall-Wilbert, Wenderoth, Davis and Parker Toth. Polson’s 4x400 relay team of Ethan McCauley, Stewart, Wall-Wilbert and Boston Goode also posted a win with a time of 3:38.93.
Arlee’s Garrett Stringer picked up a win in the high jump (5-08.00) and in the long jump (19-03.50).
Landon Lynch threw dual wins in the shot put (42-04.25) and discus (129-04) for Ronan, while James Normandeau won the 3200 (10:51.39) and Zarec Couture finished the hurdles first with a time of 46.84 seconds.
Charlo’s Landers Smith took the 110 hurdles in 16.27 seconds, and in the 1600, Wills DeGrandpre paced the pack with a time of 4:41.03 for the win.
On the girls side, Charlo sophomore standout Carlee Fryberger won three girls titles: the 100-meter dash in 12.95, the 100-meter hurdles in 15.78 and the 300-meter hurdles in 50.59 seconds. Fryberger was joined by Guinevere Contreras, Allie Delaney and Tyrah Hammond who won the 4x100 relay with a time of 52.94 seconds. Hammond picked up multiple wins for Charlo in the 400 (1:05.70) and pole vault (8-00).
Ronan’s Kinsley Barney placed first with a time of 27.42 in the 200 meters. Peyton Lammerding threw double wins in the shot put (36-01.00) and in the discus (103-01) for Arlee. For Mission, Karolyna Buck finished first in the 1600 with a time of 6:07.62, and Afton Brander scored in the high jump with 4-08.
Polson’s Gwen Seeley won the 800 meters (2:40.42) and the 3200 (14:16.34). Karly Lawson won the javelin with a throw of 116 feet even, and Mikaela Ducharme grabbed a win in both the long jump (16-01.50) and triple jump (34-01.00). The 4x400 relay team of Taleah Hernandez, Hallie Moss, Halle Heninger and Maggie Todd finished with a first-place time of 4:40.01.
