Softball

The Polson Lady Pirate High School softball team blasted Corvallis 25-8 to open the 2019 season with a road win on Saturday afternoon. Lady Pirate pitcher Lauren Vergeront came away with the win. She pitched three innings, striking out one. Katelyne Druyvestein also pitched two innings, striking out two.

The game was competitive until the fourth and fifth innings when the Lady Pirates scored 19 combined runs to have a mercy-rule call in the fifth inning. Paige Noyes led Polson at the plate going five-for-five with four RBIs. Savanna Carpentier also pushed four runs across the plate and had a home run in the game.   

 

Tennis 

On Saturday, the Mission Bulldogs girls fell 5-3 to Clark Fork. Maria Bugeda, Pam Frost and Arlita Long had winning matches. In double-header action on Saturday afternoon, the Polson Lady Pirates swept Dillon 7-0 but fell 5-2 to Whitefish. The Pirates fell 6-1 to Dillon and 5-2 to Whitefish.
