POLSON – With snow season in full effect, the City of Polson would like to remind the citizens of Polson and all the visitors about parked vehicles.

Please check to see that your vehicle(s) are out of the way and that there is adequate clearance needed for the snowplow trucks to operate. The Polson municipal code prohibits leaving abandoned, wrecked or junked vehicles on public or private property.

Vehicles may not be parked or left standing on the right-of-way of public highway longer than 48 hours or on a city street or state, county or city property longer than five days.

The last-registered owner of the vehicle is responsible for the abandonment and is liable for costs incurred in removing the vehicle. Information regarding free junk vehicle removal is available from the Lake County Environmental Health Department at 406-883- 7326 or at www.lakemt.gov/environmental/jvprogram.html.

Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to call Polson Code Compliance Officer Matt Ellermann at 406-883-8208 or codecompliance@ cityofpolson. com.
