News from the City of Polson
POLSON – On Monday, Oct. 22, Polson city commissioners held a scheduled special commission meeting to vote on renewing City Manager Mark Shrives’ employment agreement. After a tie vote on the proposed two-year agreement failed the motion, a second motion was made and passed to instead offer a one-year employment agreement.
On Tuesday, Oct. 23, Shrives decided not to sign the one-year agreement. He completed the terms of his previous employment agreement. As of Oct. 30, the city manager position is vacant.
City of Polson daily operations will continue as usual and residents should expect no interruption in any city services. Citizens with questions or concerns about the process for appointing a new city manager are encouraged to attend City of Polson commission meetings.
The next city commission meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. An agenda will be posted on the city’s website at www.cityofpolson.com/meetings. Minutes and audio recordings of commission meetings are available online as well.
City commission meetings are held in council chambers at city hall, 106 1st Street E in Polson.
