Judge C.B. McNeil dealt with the following case Wednesday, June 27:

Beth A. Oldhorn, 27, Spokane, Wash., was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for eight years, six suspended, for criminal possession with intent to distribute, a felony.

According to court documents, charges stem from a August 2010 incident where a Lake County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 93 near Ronan. A tribal officer was called to assist with the traffic stop. When the driver and the passenger, Oldhorn, were asked separately where they were going, the driver and Oldhorn gave different answers. The driver consented to a search of the vehicle, and during the search officers found two packages of what appeared to be methamphetamine in the vehicle. The driver and Oldhorn were both arrested, and in interviews, both stated that the methamphetamine was Oldhorn’s and that she intended to sell the drug.

Judge Deborah Kim Christopher dealt with the following cases Thursday, June 28:

Byron Colon, 20, St. Ignatius, pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault with a weapon, both felonies. An omnibus hearing was set for Thursday, Aug. 2, and a jury trial set to begin Monday, Sept. 10. Both begin at 9 a.m. According to court documents, charges stem from a June 16 incident at Doug Allards General Store in St. Ignatius where Colon allegedly aimed a handgun at a man and a woman and threatened to kill them. Surveillance videos from the store show Colon dropping his gun on the floor while paying for his gas, after which he left the store and confronted a man and pointed the gun at him. He then pointed the gun at a woman and cursed at her, threatening to kill her. Colon got into a parked van and drove away, pointing the gun out of the window at the woman.

Norman Pulliam, 51, Kalispell, pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a felony. An omnibus hearing was set for Thursday, Aug. 2, and a jury trial set to begin Monday, Sept. 10. Both begin at 9 a.m.

According to court documents, charges stem from a June 14 incident where a Montana Highway Patrol trooper saw a pickup truck cross Highway 93 on Mud Lake Trail without stopping. The officer activated his lights and siren and pursued the vehicle, but it did not immediately yield. When the truck pulled over, the officer saw the driver, Pulliam, hand something to the passenger, Damon Titchbourne. Pulliam did not have a driver’s license, proof of insurance or registration for his vehicle, and was behaving nervously. He was jumpy, displayed rapid speech and breathing, was extremely talkative and had small sores on his hands and wrists, all symptoms of methamphetamine use and intoxication. Titchbourne also had sores on his hands and wrists and was nervous. A check of their criminal records showed both men had multiple drug offenses. In a search of the vehicle, the officer found a glass methamphetamine pipe and a syringe loaded with 60 cc’s of clear liquid. A field test showed the liquid contained methamphetamine. Pulliam’s driving history showed three prior DUI convictions.

Damon Titchbourne, 34, Kalispell, pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. An omnibus hearing was set for Thursday, Aug. 2, and a jury trial set to begin Monday, Sept. 10. Both begin at 9 a.m.
