ARLEE – The Arlee Volunteer Fire Department responded to a tree fire Friday night after a lightning storm. The tree was located east of Arlee on McClure Road. Flames spewed out from a crack in the tree and burned the core of the old pine. Firefighters worried the tree could split and cause damage to power lines and the public road. A water tanker was brought in to douse the flames after smaller suppression efforts failed.
