Teen dies in Mud Falls hiking accident

News from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office
POLSON – Cameron Roullier, 18, of Polson, slipped and fell off of Mud Lake Falls and died from his injuries at the scene.
Lake County 911 Center received a call about 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, that a member of the group hiking in the Mud Lake Falls area had slipped on wet rocks and fell into fast moving water.
Sheriff Don Bell called out Lake County Search and Rescue and asked for Two Bear Air to assist. Search and rescue teams on scene were notified by Two Bear Air that they had located the victim about two-thirds down the cliff face. The Lake County Search and Rescue rope team worked their way down to the victim and recovery was made with the aid of Two Bear Air.
The victim was sent to the Montana crime lab to assist in determining the cause of death. Lake County Sheriff's Office and Sheriff Don Bell wish to express sincere condolences to the Roullier family.
“We are deeply saddened by your loss,” Bell states.
