News from Mission Bay Elks Lodge No. 1695

Mission Bay Elks Lodge No. 1695 has been successful in getting grants from the Elks National Foundation and given our youth self worth, alcohol and drug awareness by bringing Ray Lozano, national speaker, to our area. This was accomplished by the ENF Beacon Grant. We were also able to offer the “Polson Afterschool Project” some assistance with funds for food and other activities. We have given to the Polson Police Department funds to help purchase a replacement K-9 drug dog with the Anniversary Grant. We are currently working on helping the Boys and Girls Clubs to provide tablets for further learning endeavors as well as benches for our local club with a $2000 Gratitude Grant. We had initially chosen to purchase tables for the local Club but when the management at Ronan Boys and Girls Club ordered these tables the company elected to donate them so it was determined that the need for tablets was a good investment. We were also able to purchase sessions for the Boys and Girls Club youth to be able to swim at the Aquatic Center.

The Elks are a fraternal organization that is growing here in our area. We initiated nine new members on Thursday, March 29. We are volunteers who strive to help our community, our youth and our veterans with events held at the Lodge and with the Elks’ National Foundation Grants used to benefit our community. We are very thankful to our Elks National Foundation for these funds to better our community and we will continue to seek these grants.
