POLSON — Polson Rotary is looking forward to another successful Festival for Youth celebration in 2018. The total amount raised in the last 11 years is now over $290,000. The majority of funds are raised through a multi-prize raffle with club members and benefitting organizations selling raffle tickets. Prizes this year include: $1000 cash, $1000 groceries, over 100 bottles of wine, $500 in gas, half a pig – wrapped, and two annual golf passes.
The FFY celebration will culminate this year with a Chili Cook-off Contest on Aug. 11 at Riverside Park. We anticipate 14 to 16 different groups manning booths and cooking up their own secret recipes for tasting. Tasting kits (bowls and spoons) will be sold to the general public and all are welcome to sample the diverse chili creations. Each tasting kit will also receive a ballot to vote for their favorite chili. Anyone wishing to enter the Chili Cook-off Contest can find contest rules and an application form on the Polson Rotary webpage: https://portal.clubrunner.ca/1867. Tasting is from noon-2 p.m. Winners of the best chili and the raffle drawings are announced at 2 p.m. A great time is had by all.
