News from Arlee Schools

ARLEE – The Arlee School District Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the following four finalists for the position of District Superintendent. The community is invited to attend candidate interviews starting at 1 p.m. March 28, at the high school library.

Steven Schwartz has been the K-12 principal for Heart Butte Public Schools for two years. He previously served as superintendent and principal for Lavina School District in Lavina, Montana, and Lambert School District in Lambert, Montana. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Valley City State University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Minnesota State University – Mankato.

James Baldwin currently serves as the superintendent of Poplar School District in Poplar, Montana and has been in that position for three years. Prior to joining the Poplar School District, Baldwin served as superintendent for the school districts in Choteau, Montana, Alberton, Montana and served as interim superintendent for the St. John/Endicott School District in St. John, Washington. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadfield Health and Physical Education and Elementary Education from Minot State University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Mary.

Thad Kaiser is currently superintendent of the Noxon School District in Noxon, Montana. Prior to joining the Noxon School District in 2016, Kaiser served as the superintendent of the Chester-Joplin-Inverness Public Schools in Chester, Montana. Kaiser has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Broadfield Social Science from Montana State University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Montana State University.

Anne Brownell-Tanner is the K-2 principal for Arlee Public Schools and was previously an elementary school teacher within the district for 12 years. She previously was a teacher for Shepherd Public Schools in Shepherd, Montana. Brownell-Tanner has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Montana – Western and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Montana.
