Pirate wrestlers pick up wins over Columbia Falls, Whitefish

The Pirate wrestlers picked up another pair of wins this week as Polson earned victories over Whitefish and Columbia Falls Friday.
The Pirates opened the evening with a dominating performance at Whitefish, downing the Bulldogs 84-6. Whitefish's only points came via a forfeit in the 171-pound weight class as Polson not only won every matchup, but also picked up pins in all seven bouts.
Only two matches lasted more than minute as Carlos Quinones had the fastest pin of the dual at nine seconds. Alex Nystom was not far behind, pinning Whitefish wrestler Madison McWhirter in just 12 seconds in their 140-pound matchup. Mike Devlin needed just 27 seconds to pick up a pin against Jarrid Selway while Craig Feistner won in 50 seconds and Jesse Alfiero picked up a pin in 56 seconds. Jacob Young picked up a win in the 135-pound division, pinning Jason Newbury in 1:13 and Jerell Chief Stick pinned Jacob Forrest in 1:54 in the 215-pound weight class.
The Pirates picked up another win later in the evening as they traveled to Columbia Falls to pick up a 46-24 win.
Quinones, Dylan Moll, Nystrom, Colton Lenz and Josiah Clairmont all picked up pins for the Pirates in the win while Jacob Young won via a 7-3 decision in the 135-pound weight class, Jared Young picked up a 7-5 win in the 145-pound division and Mike Devlin won via a 13-3 major decision in the 160-pound weight class.
The Pirates will be back in action Friday as they host Rival Ronan.
