POLSON — Polson Fire Department responded to a modular home fire at 305 Fourth Ave. E. the afternoon of Wednesday, Nov. 29.
Fire Chief Clint Cottle said the initial call from dispatch came in at 12:45 p.m.
Firefighters were able to put down the fire in about 25 minutes, he said, adding that an estimated $60,000 to $70,000 of “significant damage” occurred.
No one was in the one-story, three-bedroom structure at the time, which he described as temporarily vacant.
The cause of the fire is under investigation with assistance being provided by the state fire marshal’s office.
Fourteen firefighters were on scene for about three hours, Cottle said.
Assistance was provided by Polson Rural Fire Department, Polson Ambulance and Polson Police Department.
