POLSON — After interviews with the three final candidates for superintendent of the Polson School District #23 and input from students, parents and community member, trustees offered a contract to Dr. Linda Reksten.
Reksten accepted, and the contract will be voted on at the board meeting on June 11.
A graduate of Flathead High School, Reksten is the superintendent of Butte School District. She graduated from MSU-Billings in 1973 with a B.S. in secondary education-biology, received her master’s in education from George Fox University, Newberg, Ore., her masters in curriculum/administration from Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego, Calif., and her doctorate in teaching studies from UCLA in 1995.
Reksten was an administrator at Mountain View School District and Burbank Unified School District in California as well as a professor at Point Loma Nazarene University.
In total, nine candidates were considered for the position.
