A 34-year-old man from Plains died in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 93 yesterday.
The driver of a Subaru station wagon, who Lake County Undersheriff Ben Woods identified as Kenny Marjerrison, was pronounced dead on scene, Montana Highway Patrol Sgt. Chan Barry said.
The Subaru was headed northbound when it veered into the southbound lane and struck the driver's side front corner of a Toyota pickup, Barry said.
The Subaru came to rest in the northbound lane, while the Toyota went off the east side of the highway.
The driver of the Toyota, who Barry described as a man in his 60s, was injured and transported to St. Patrick's Hospital in Missoula by ground ambulance.
The crash occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25 near mile marker 20, about four miles north of Arlee, Barry said.
Both men were wearing seat belts and airbags deployed, he said.
Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
