Foundation luau supports music scholarships
BIGFORK — Crown Guitar and Flathead Lake Brewing Company will present ‘LIVE at Flathead Lake! The Crown Summer Celebration Finale’ on Saturday, Aug. 26, in the back parking lot of the Flathead Lake Brewing Pub House. Come to our Montana-style luau dressed in your best Hawaiian attire and enjoy a night of live music with Crown Guitar artists Andrew Scotchie, Laura Jean Anderson, The Command Sisters, Nick Spears, Kevin Van Dort, the Crown All Star Band and more. We’ll be serving a Hawaiian menu outside including Kahlua pork, teriyaki chicken, stir-fry rice, and macaroni salad. There will also be an outside bar featuring island inspired cocktails, a selection of wines, and, of course, Flathead Lake Brewing Company’s best brews available for purchase. Tickets are $10 for entry. All proceeds of the cover will be donated to benefit local Bigfork Crown of the Continent Guitar Foundation’s music scholarships.
University requests study applicants
Researchers at the University of Montana are conducting a study focused on wood stoves and respiratory health in children. The goal of this study is to learn about different strategies for improving the air children breathe and examine possible associations with childhood respiratory health. Eligible households include those with one or more children younger than 5 years of age that live in homes that use a wood stove as a primary heating source. Households will receive a portable air filtration unit, a moisture meter, and up to $200 in compensation. To complete a short eligibility survey visit: //bit.ly/kidsair.
