Sensory Processing’ explained
PABLO — What exactly is “Sensory Processing?” You have likely heard this phrase, but may not understand exactly what it is. We are lucky to have an expert in our area, Cyndi Elliott, who will be happy to explain sensory processing development at a free presentation that is open to the public on Tuesday, June 13, at 9 a.m.
The Best Beginning Children’s Partnership serving the Flathead Reservation and Lake County, and the CSKT Early Childhood Program are sponsoring Ms. Elliott’s talk in an effort to help parents and other caregivers understand how this can affect young children, and what can be done to help alleviate the symptoms, which are sometimes mistaken for autism.
Come early for coffee, a light breakfast and networking at 8:30 a.m. at Mission Valley Power’s conference room in Pablo. Cyndi’s talk will be from 9-11 a.m., with time for questions. For more information, call 406-883-7209.
Director of emergency dispatch to address Pachyderms
POLSON — If you are interested in learning about what services Lake County citizens receive from the Lake County Enhanced 911 center, plan to attend the Friday, June 9 meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club. Steve Stanley, director of the Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Department, will not only give an overview of what goes on regularly via the current system, but will describe the benefits of a computer aided dispatch system he hopes will be put in place in the near future.
Pachyderm meetings begin at noon and adjourn at 1 p.m. and are held in the Rural Polson Fire Department building on Regatta Road near the fairgrounds. Anyone interested in learning more about local issues is cordially invited to attend.
