News from the Polson Scholarship and Education Foundation
The Polson Scholarship and Education Foundation awarded 26 scholarships totaling $34,500 to Polson High School seniors and former Polson High School graduates who are currently attending an accredited two-year, four-year, community college, university or vocational school.
The following scholarships are set up through the PSEF with money donated by individuals in memory of loved ones, alumni classes, and employees of School District No. 23 in the amount of $500. Our foundation then matches the $500 with $500 so each high school senior receives a $1,000 scholarship. One exception is the Class of ’59 that provides $1,000 and we give $500 for a $1,500 scholarship.
High school seniors receiving scholarships are: Sophia Sizler - the Mildred and Hib Hanson Scholarship; Jenna Evertz - the Montecahto Club Scholarship; Joshua Kinzle - the Theiler/Oberlitner Scholarship; Ryan Harrop - the Travis Dolphin Memorial Scholarship; Colin Kenny - District No. 23 Employees Scholarship; Emiliano Hernandez - the Class of ’59 Scholarship; Mikayla Croft - the Trusler Family Vocational Scholarship; Amber Clarke - the Robert DePoe III Memorial Scholarship.
The following scholarships, in the amount of $2,000 each with $500 dollars from memorials and a $1,500 from PSEF, were given to students currently enrolled in college: Natalee Wheeler - Women of Rollins Emma Sager Scholarship; Teagan Bauer - an anonymous donor provided a scholarship; Isak Petersen - Ruth Walker Memorial Scholarship; Caitlin Mahoney Coffeen - the Alumni Class of ’65 Scholarship; Caden Howlett - the Alumni Class 1920-1955 Scholarship; Wyatt DuCharme - the Merle Anderson Memorial Scholarship; Mollie Lemm - the Sue Gregg Lanier Memorial Scholarship; and Remington O’Conlough - the Chris Hoyt Memorial Scholarship.
The following college students received $1,000 scholarships with $500 from the Theiler/Oberlitner Scholarship and a $500 match from the School District #23 Employees: Dylan Noyes and Claire Lanier. Another $500 Theiler/Oberlitner Scholarship for $500 and a match of $500 from the Chris Hoyt Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Jayme Sheumaker.
