POLSON —  I just read that 4,153,237 people got married last year. Not to cause any trouble but shouldn’t that be an even number?

The veterans’ representative will be here on June 2 from 10 a.m.-noon.

On Tuesday, May 23, Clara Sipe was the high scorer at Bridge with Max Neeley taking second. Max emerged on May 26, taking first and Dee Adams placed second.

I am grateful that good people stepped forward to fill my job while I am laid up. Harvey Kenitzer has been doing a wonderful job. He says, “No, I don’t want your job,” but I think he secretly enjoys it. My wife, Fran, has helped some with the mowing and our son, Tim, has been pitching in, doing the lion’s share. I can do some string trimming and, hopefully, I can return to active duty before long.

The lunch menu for the coming week:

—  Thursday, June 1: spaghetti, garlic bread

—  Friday, 2: hamburgers steak, whipped potatoes

—  Monday, 5: chicken rice soup, cheesy bread

—  Tuesday, 6: Oriental stir fry, egg rolls

—  Wednesday 7: ham loaf, scalloped potatoes

All meals include vegetables and a dessert

Lunch is served from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
