Polson has tough week at tourney

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – The Polson Pirate wrestling squad sent six of its wrestlers to the Tri-State Tournament in Coeur d’Alene this past weekend, where 113-pound grappler Dylan Moll was the only team member to come within one match of placing, finishing with a 2-2 record to take fifth place.
“The (Tri-State) Tournament is probably the toughest one in the Northwest,” head coach Bob Owen said. “We need to get everyone healthy and have good practices over the break. That will make or break us in the home stretch.”
Carlos Quinones won two matches in the 113-pound bracket, defeating Jacob Ulland, before losing to Josh Newberg. With the loss, Quinones moved to the wrestle back bracket, where he defeated Brian Alonzo. In the following match, Quinones fell to Blake Ivie.
In the 126-category, Craig Feistner won his first match by defeating JR Pina. Feistner advanced to defeat Mark McKeown in the second round, but lost to Beau Gleed in his third match. Feistner then moved to the wrestle back bracket, where he lost to Cody Dehn.
Drew Fouty (132) had a first round bye, and lost to Blaine Invernon in the second round. In the wrestle back bracket, Fouty fell to Brad Fox in the second round after receiving a first round bye.
Alex Nystrom (138) advanced after a first-round bye, and defeated Rique Cardenas in the second round. Following his win, Nystrom fell to Zac Cobb in the third round
In the wrestle back bracket, Nystrom lost again, falling to Jake Butler.
In the 152-pound category, Mike Devlin advanced in the first round after receiving a bye, and defeated Same Bruce in the second round.
Following his win, Devlin fell to Nico Moreno in the third round.
Devlin then moved to the wrestle back bracket, where he lost to Bryson Pierce.
