News from the Boys and Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation
As we get closer to the end of the school year, kids are getting ready for summer and enjoying more Boys and Girls Club activities. Our club members of the month for Polson are both 10 years old and are regular attending youth. Hunter Lytton has been coming to the club for four years and enjoys the Lego building challenges and tech room activities. He also enjoys fishing, swimming, and riding his bike – common summer activities at the club. Hunter is the member of the month because he has really grown personally over the last few months and continues to improve daily. He’s looking towards carpentry as a career field when he grows up and is full of interesting talents.
Zoya Paul is our other club member of the month and has attended the club since September. She’s full of eagerness to help the staff and has a contagious laugh that we all enjoy. Zoya loves to play with her dog and enjoys dinners with her family when she’s not at the club. Art and Power Hour (our homework time) are her favorite parts of club days. Zoya wants to be a football player when she grows up.
A fourth grader and second grader are April members of the month in Ronan. Our fourth grader, Tristan Buckallew, is a boy of many talents. He’s got a group of friends he hangs out with at the Ronan clubhouse that he enjoys playing outdoor activities with. Tristan also enjoys art, computer lab time, and music. He is a great bowler, reads Harry Potter and likes to watch YouTube videos when he has the chance. Tristan likes the color blue, thinks macaroni and cheese is awesome, and is interested in wolves. When he’s an adult, he aspires to be a weather man, which should keep him busy here in Montana. Rayna Tonasket is our second grade member of the month and is eight years old. She likes to read Junie B. Jones books and watch the Disney channel. Rayna also enjoys outdoor sports and is especially good at softball. Her favorite colors are green and pink, she likes to eat watermelon, and pandas are her favorite animal. She has her sights set on being a cheerleader when she grows up – and with her fun spirit and enthusiasm, will certainly accomplish that.
