Polson tennis split matches, Ronan picks up victory on road

POLSON – Though rainy weather plagued the Mission Valley most of the week, the Pirates and Lady Pirates managed to slip in a few matches against visiting Whitefish and Dillon on Saturday.
Both the Pirates and Lady Pirates split their matches, with the boys winning 6-1 over Whitefish and falling to Dillon 7-0 and the girls losing to Whitefish 5-2 and defeating Dillon 4-3.
In No. 1 singles action, Colin Kenney split his matches defeating Eric Holdhusen of Whitefish 6-1, 6-3 and falling in three sets to Dillon’s Brad Rakich 1-6, 6-2, 9-7. Lady Pirates’ Cassie Carlyle posted straight-set victories defeating Whitefish’s Paint Intasuk 6-1, 7-5 and Dillon’s Mariah McClure 6-1, 6-3.
Ronan traveled to Darby on April 4, where the Chiefs and Maidens narrowly came falling 3-2 to the Tigers.
In singles action, Maidens’ Maddie Sevier defeated Emmy Anderson, 1-6 and Chiefs’ Coleman Taylor defeated Bridger Ernsberger, 6-1, 6-2.
