POLSON — Following the extensive investigation by the Polson Police Department, a $100,000 arrest warrant was issued on March 23 for property manager Douglas Dennis Lichte of Bozeman. He is being charged with 16 counts of felony theft plus three counts of misdemeanor theft.
Lichte, dressed in a suit and tie, appeared in district court on Thursday, March 30 after he paid his bond. His arraignment is set for April 20, and the court asked that he turn in his passport to the district clerk’s office.
The alleged financial thefts involve accounts in which money from security deposits by renters, rental payments, and amounts held in trust for individuals and partnerships in local businesses have disappeared from Lichte’s bank account, resulting in a zero or negative balance, according to a Polson Police press release.
The police department said they are thankful to the numerous individuals who came forward with information. If you have been a victim of this, please contact Polson Police Captain Alan Booth at 883-8211 or abooth@cityofpolson. com.
