Polson wrestling team handed pair of losses

The Polson Pirate wrestling team had a tough week before heading into the holiday break, falling on the road to Frenchtown 48-39 and Libby 57-30.

Frenchtown won the opening two matches in the 98 and 105-weight divisions, before Carlos Quinones (112) pinned Preston Downard in 1:01.

Dylan Moll continued his strong season by winning in a 9-7 decision over Glenn Hensley in the 119-pound class. In the following match, Craig Feistner (125) took down Carson Wabaunsee by pin in 1:30.

Polson’s next match win came in the 140-pound category, where Skylar Anderson pinned Kody Wilson in 3:44, while senior leader Alex Nystrom (145) pinned Tucker Truett in 4:54.

Mike Devlin also scored points for the Pirates with a win over Jack Nerison via pin in 3:56. The Pirates won the heavyweight division by forfeit, while Frenchtown won 171 and 189 by forfeit.

On Thursday, the Pirates traveled to Libby, where they fell 57-30 to the Loggers. The match started at 119, as Polson’s Cody Hadern (98) and Carlos Quinones (112) both won by forfeit.

Polson’s first competitive match win came from Feistner in the 125-pound category, pinning Aaron Seefeldt in 3:36. Steven Walk picked up the Pirate’s next win, pinning Alex Yeadon in 1:09.

The Loggers took control in weight categories 140 through 215, allowing the Loggers to secure the win.

Polson heavyweight Josiah Clairmont continues to dominate his opponents, picking up a win over Zach Dolezal via pin in just 15 seconds.

The Pirates are now on holiday break, and will resume their season Jan. 5 at home against Libby.
