POLSON - Despite the dreary weather, nearly 70 runners came out to get some exercise and support a good cause during the March MeltDown 5K/10K race on Saturday.
Due to the rain, the event turnout was a little under the weather. “Last year we had more, but it’s a rainy cold day,” said Lauren Arnold, vice president of Polson Running. “The snow did melt,” Arnold quickly pointed out.
Mike Sitter of Polson placed first overall in the men’s 10K with a time of 40:45 and Jordan Ives of Polson placed first overall in the women’s 10K with a time of 45:27. In the 5K event, Rebecca Kyle of Whitefish placed first (26:07) and Ryan Hardy of Polson won with a time of 25:41.
Complete race results are available on the Polson Running website at www.polsonrunning.com.
This year the proceeds from the race entry fees went to benefit Mission Valley Aquatic Center. The Center serves the Mission Valley area by offering a wide variety of aquatic programs for all ages.
