POLSON – A man and a woman have been charged with criminal possession with intent to distribute after allegedly bringing heroin to Lake County from Spokane.

Jay Sorrell, 26, and Ishan Adalin Wylie, 27, both of Pablo, were arrested after a Feb. 3 traffic stop.

A confidential informant notified police about a heroin shipment, a court document states. When the vehicle was pulled over, three people were inside, including Sorrell, the driver, and two passengers, Wylie and Adam Dubiel.

Dubiel said that Sorrell purchased the heroin in Spokane and that Wylie hid it in her butt, according to a court document. After police obtained a warrant to search her body, a zip-lock baggie was found containing 10 grams of heroin divided into 100 “points” of one-tenth of a gram each.

Each of the three people had different stories about where they were coming from, the court document states.

Maximum punishment for criminal possession with intent to distribute is 20 years, $50,000 or both.

Sorrell pleaded not guilty on Feb. 22, and Wylie pleaded not guilty on March 8. Both have June 5 jury trials scheduled.
