BILLINGS – The Ronan Maidens’ hopes for a State Class B girls basketball title frustratingly came to an end on Thursday at the Rimrock Auto Arena at the Metra Park in Billings.

At the half, Red Lodge took a 39-32 advantage into the locker room.
In the third-quarter the Rams were up by as many as 10 points before the Maidens orchestrated an 11-0 run to close out the quarter down only 49-48.
The back breaker came in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter, when Red Lodge went on a 10-0 scoring run that ultimately sealed the 70-61 victory for the Rams.
Micalann McCrea scored a Maidens’ teamhigh 23 points, while Alicia Camel had 19.
On Friday afternoon in the loser-out bracket, the Maidens fell to the Three Forks Wolves 59-49.
Finding themselves down 36-20 at the half, the Maidens clawed and scratched their way back into the game by tying it 46 all with a little less than three minutes left in the game.
With 2:41 remaining the Wolves scored the goahead bucket that sparked an 11-0 scoring run to put the game away.
Alicia Camel scored 19 points, while McCrea grabbed eight rebounds, six steals and scored 13 points.
Next season, the Maidens return to the Class A ranks where they won their last championship in 1992.
