ARLEE — March indeed came in like a lion, with a bit of snow, wind, rain and sun. Mostly we like the sun and the melting of snow. We find that many of our snowbirds are staying a bit longer in that sunshine state. February was a busy month with the Arlee/Jocko Volunteer Fire Department having their annual dinner at our place. We celebrated Valentine’s Day with dinner and many door prizes that were very tasty. We also had our organization meeting electing Lilie Willison as president, Marie Gillette as vice president and Anne Stewart as secretary/treasurer. Bette Samsel turned the nutrition manager reins over to Kelly Burland, our cook. Judi Miller volunteered to keep our center looking its best. We are happy with all of that.
On St. Patrick’s Day we will have a bountiful meal of corned beef and cabbage.
Meals for March are:
— Wednesday, March 8: hot pork sandwich, broccoli salad
— Friday, March 10: cowboy beans, corn bread, cheese/veggie tray
— Saturday, March 11: barbecue ribs, baked potatoes, coleslaw
— Monday, March 13: Chinese noodles w/egg onion, S and S pork
— Wednesday, March 15: fajitas, Spanish rice
— Friday, March 17: corned beef and cabbage with potatoes
— Monday, March 20: chicken Parmesan, pasta salad
— Wednesday, March 22: tuna casserole, green salad
— Friday, March 24: baked potato bar, chili and toppings
— Saturday, March 25: roast beef, potatoes and gravy
— Monday, March 27: meatloaf, Jo-Jo potatoes, three-bean salad
— Wednesday, March 29: spaghetti with meat sauce
— Friday, March 31: pork and rice with egg roll.
All meals include fruit, dessert, buns, salad or veggies.
We truly hope you can come join us for our meals. Families especially bring a light to our eyes, reminding us of grandchildren and the joy they bring.
The Arlee Senior Center is located at 34532 Weissinger Street. For information call 406-726- 3213. You can also call for a meal to be delivered to you. We offer meals for a mere $4 for those over 60 and $5 for those under 60. Children’s meals are much less.
