The Mission Valley Mariners won the District A State American Legion Baseball tournament and are headed to the regional tournament in Burley, Idaho. Their first game will be against an Oregon team Aug. 10 at 4:30 p.m.
While it’s a great win, the Mariners need money for gas, motel rooms and food for growing boys. Mariner parents hustled and got a booth together at the Lake County Fair featuring raffle baskets, a 50/50, a quilt raffle and Flathead cherries to sell. They also plan a carwash.
