Ronan High School students Daniel Koehler, left, and Jarrett Richey, right, pose for a photo with American Legion Ronan Post 138 Vice Commander Glen Sharbono after participating in the post’s annual oratorical competition Feb. 22. Koehler, a senior, took first place for his prepared and impromptu speeches and will advance to district competition on March 5. Richey, a junior, claimed third place while Roman Hall, not pictured, came in second. The goal of the constitutional speech contest is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation for the United States Constitution in high school students.
